Custom Stained or Leaded Glass

Pricing
Prices for a new stained or leaded glass panel range from $140.00 to $300.00 per square foot. The price
will depend on the amount of detail of the panel. For instance, a very simple geometric design will be on
the bottom end of the price range, and an elaborate Victorian, painting, or floral design may be closer to
the top end. My prices are very competitive with other professional stained glass artists.
For each job and every client, my
goal is to provide quality service and
workmanship in a timely manner.
The client's complete satisfaction is
paramount! All of my commissioned
glass work is fully guaranteed.
Should you decide to have me create a
new panel for you, the normal sequence
of events is as follows:
1. I will come to your site and discuss
your options. After a discussion, a design
is agreed upon.
2. I work up some rough designs with
colors and texture possibilities and quote
you a firm price. If you accept the design
and the quote, you pay a one third
deposit. (See pricing guide below.)
3. I/you take exact measurements and I
draw up full size plans. Then the
fabrication of the panel begins.
4. I deliver the panel to your site and you
pay the balance due at the time of
delivery.
A consultation with my client is the first
stage of any repair. It is important to me
that the client understands their options
and the process of repairing stained glass
panels.
Sometimes, all and old panel needs is to
be flattened, have some joints re-soldered
and be re-cemented and cleaned. Other
times, only a complete rebuild will suffice.
The condition of the lead is a better guide
than the condition of the glass.
If the glass is merely cracked, it is often
possible to do a "lead-over". This
involves laying a piece of lead over the
crack and soldering on each end. If
pieces of glass are missing, I will search
through my stock of vintage glass for a
good match. If that fails, I will find the best
match in available modern glass.
Prices start at around $20 per piece of
glass replaced and go up according to the
size of the piece and type of glass. Lead-
overs, bracing tie replacement and re-
cementing are an additional fee.
If the integrity of the lead and panel is
compromised due to age and/or damage, I
will consult with you on your options. It is
my desire to restore a beautiful panel to
it's former strength and beauty without
damaging the original artist's intent. If
glass replacement pieces need to be
painted and fired, there will be an extra
charge per painted piece.
